![]() ![]() On a personal note, this reviewer loved to see the Police Academy/X-Men sketch this season, as it featured the line of Marvel Legends figures which populate the IGN LA office (thanks to IGN TV editor Eric Goldman). Whether it is because of the nostalgic factor that we may hold for these figurines or the fact that we are just entertained by crude copies of our childhood toys, whatever the case, we can't help but instantly derive pleasure from seeing these figures take life in the odious world of Robot Chicken. Using actual toys (which many of us may actually own), Robot Chicken instantly gains our attention. While there have been many advancements in CGI over the years, this tested and true method of animation just plays perfectly for the series. This being the case, it is easy to see why the program received an Emmy in 2006 for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation (for the episode "Easter Basket"), and has been nominated again this year for Outstanding Animated Program. ![]() The stop-motion style of animation isn't used too much any longer in TV and movies, which is too bad - as even though it may take more time, its rough and real feel is still unmatched by computers. ![]()
