![]() ![]() Highly recommended for intermediate/advanced Japanese students. ![]() There was also a lot about keigo (formal speaking), and how even Japanese people get it wrong a lot. Men came to the capital, heard geisha speaking that way, and took it home and spread it, thinking it was the way everyone in the capital spoke. For example, masu/desu is now standard Japanese, but it used to be geisha-speak. There's also a lot of interesting background on the Japanese language, like where certain words came from and such. "The Japanese the Japanese Don't Know" is a collection of stories about a teacher of Japanese in Japan and her students, what sort of questions they ask, what sort of mistakes they make, etc. So if you are willing to look past some poor acting and have an interest in the Japanese language you may also enjoy this drama.1 Nihonjin no shiranai Nihongo (The Japanese the Japanese don't know) By Takayuki Tomita Nihonjin no shiranai Nihongo (The Japanese the Japanese don't know) By Takayuki Tomita Absolutely hilarious and educational book. The foreign cast member's acting made the series hard to watch at times and I felt myself feeling awkward or embarrassed while watching it, which is not a good feeling to have as a viewer!įor that reason it is hard to recommend, but I did overall enjoy it. The acting from Kano Haruko was okay, which helped to bring it all together, but the acting from the members of her class were overall an extremely poor quality. However where it fell down the most was in the acting. It is interesting from the perspective of a Japanese language leaner as it does explain some concepts of the language, and as a casual viewer some of the stories the drama presented were enjoyable. ![]() However the drama left me feeling disappointed. The concept itself seemed interesting, and as a learner of the Japanese language, I thought that from watching it I could learn more about the language. Volver a ver 5.5 This drama overall was a bit hit and miss for me. ![]()
